Teachers:
Like yourself, the creators of Real English® are English teachers (EFL). Real English® course organization reflects real problems encountered in the classroom.
We have noted that upper-intermediate students who can communicate well are often at a complete loss when they must write down the first and last names of the person they are talking to. It's the normal speed of spelling which usually throws them off. Normal speed seems too fast for them. Other students at this level simply never learned the alphabet thoroughly.
The videos and exercises in this particular lesson are designed to reveal unknown weaknesses while providing the material necessary to begin to rectify a common problem. Of course, this lesson is in the beginner's section, but try it out with your more advanced students!
