This short lesson provides examples of nationalities and the usages of "Where are you from?" and "What nationality are you?"

The teachers at The Marzio School have all participated in the creation of Real English®. For example, you can hear them in the audio files in nearly all the lessons. Have a look at exercise 1 and you will see what I mean.

Since this is one of the 14 lessons for real beginners, we want to limit the level of difficulty and concentrate on listening comprehension. One way this can be accomplished in a quiz is to provide the answer - yes, give the answer away - but only in the form which can be heard.

In the first audio file, just below the video, we first listen to a teacher asking the question. In the second audio file, we listen to another one of the teachers giving the answer. This answer is one of the 3 choices in the MC quiz. Real beginners will listen several times before clicking on the correct answer.

This quiz method would be nearly useless for more advanced students, but is perfectly adapted to real beginners: the difference between country and nationality is both seen and heard several times thanks to the 2 audio sources: the video itself and the audio files.
