The present
progressive 1 - The main use of the present progressive is to describe an action going on now. That's why this video shows people telling us what they are doing while they do it. However, this tense is also used: 2 - to describe longer actions in progress, for example, "He is studying to become a doctor". 3 - for actions in the near future. For example, "She is meeting her boyfriend in a bar tonight". This is the same as "She is going to meet her boyfriend in a bar tonight". 4 - for actions which are repeated, with adverbs like "always" or "constantly". For example, "I don't like those people because they are always making trouble". |
